I don't understand how the Church keeps its tax exemption, because it OFFICIALLY meddles in our politics, to wit, the abortion issue. Archbishops giving public speeches, nuns demonstrating...but then, religion should simply be classified as part of the entertainment industry, with no special tax status of any kind. All religions. Temples, synagogues, churches, and mosques should have to pay ordinary local property taxes that support fire and police departments and maintain the roads.
