MagicEarth is the solution and it's good enough for most things. Offline maps are a nice feature. The struggle is that the search function isn't as smooth. You need the specific address sometimes.
Overall @GrapheneOS is a good play.
Waze is my friend
Google maps is nice with streetview
Apple Maps is just... garbage usually.
To each their own though and time is scarce! We had a GrapheneOS bloke Dan (npub1lm3…l0ne) with us in Tokyo. Great great guy. Sadly he has to use google maps within a browser though to stop the tracking.
