Connecting a bicycle to a mixing console might make it sad, but connecting a faulty cable or microphone that shorts must happen all the time even in normal contexts, so that’s something a console needs to handle anyway.
What I’m more concerned about is that you can’t get a “disconnect event” from the latch, like in PCI express.
