I think free services that plan to sell user data should require the signature of the user at minimum, no a check mark doesn't and shouldn't count as a signature. People would still sign it I know but I think it would slow some people down enough to be like "Wait a sec, why do I need to give my signature to use this"
I think it's quite odd that the majority of Internet users don't even question why everything is free.
