I bought a new camera today! It's nothing exciting. But it will allow me to take pictures of birds. Of course I also bought an extended warranty since my cameras happen to break often as I ride around NYC on my bike with them.
The Canon PowerShot SX70 is a downgrade from my old camera but also costs 1/3 of the price. I'd love to get a mirrorless camera but am not sure I want to haul that much weight around on my bike. And also I'd probably break it or the lens rather quickly. But I might get a used mirrorless setup next year.
