Captured media has successfully confused opinion for fact in the mind of the passive observer. The power structure knows that it cannot stop the spread of information in a digital age. Instead, it gets ahead of unfavorable information by telling you how to feel about it as it reaches your consciousness. When the news comes pre interpreted, critical thought becomes too difficult and scary for most. This is how propaganda is performed in the United States. Working alongside appeals to Emotion, authority, logical fallacies, doublespeak, and labels for people that reject the overton window of the day. Together, these aspects create an imalgum of thought where objective truth becomes increasingly scarce.
This centralized and therefore curruptable mode of information causes increased political division. Multiple partisan opinions are presented as news telling, all while the actual news is never laid bare for critical thought. People respond to authority, adopt the opinions, and fight amongst each other. All to end up confused and angry, for they never find the root issue causing their anguish.
When we can't agree on the problems we share, we can't fight for the solutions to set us free.
If only an information system without this divisive brain rot existed... #nostr
