Clarke from Berkeley to Yale

Timothy Clarke, currently associate professor of philosophy at the University of California, Berkeley, is moving to Yale University, where he will be associate professor of philosophy. Professor Clarke works in ancient Greek philosophy. According to Paul Franks, chair of philosophy at, Yale, Clarke “is currently working on Aristotle (and others) on Platonic forms;  the methodological problem of how to engage with positions which seem, in various ways, to call the basic presuppositions of philosophical argument into question; and natural teleology.” He is the author of, among other things, Aristotle and the Eleatic One (2019, OUP). You can learn more about his work here. Clarke will take up his new position at Yale on July 1st, 2024. Professor Franks shared some other Yale Philosophy news: Both David Charles and Kenneth Winkler will be retired as of July 1st, 2024 The department has made two junior hires—Tyler Brooke-Wilson (currently a Bersoff fellow at NYU) and Claudia Dumitru (currently a post-doc at Princeton)—who will be starting at Yale in July.
