This product is garbage for the reason you cite, and related reasons - PTFE limits the temperature way too low to use it with the main material it would be useful for: recycled PET from bottles. It might be possible to fix both using silicone tube as the consumable though. But ideally it'd use a two part metal form and no consumables. The Slunaz machine already exists and I think it does this all right.
