I'm reminded of Ross Ulbricht's speech a few days ago. I just watched it last night. He basically said, be like decentralized wasps. I think he's gonna run for some office, BTW.
So maybe that's a true civilization - wasps that speak each other's language, on the same page. But wasp-ness is necessary. Then we could argue that neither the Europeans nor Chinese have a civilization at all, because they are too submissive.
Maybe there's only 4 civilizations in the world... America, Latin America, Russia, and the Middle East. Non-submissive cultures, quite capable of making things as expensive as necessary. But losing that ability over time... We're decivilizing.
