Looking at some caption data extracted with FFmpeg with ‘readeia608’…
…and I’m quickly reminded that when open source folks copy something, they have an unhealthy habit of doing so without truly understanding what it is they’re copying.
In this particular case, when a FF contributor copied a technical detail from my “Decoding Analog Line-21/608: A Primer” essay**, they failed to account for the ›››consequences‹‹‹ of their implementation.
