There's few places in the USA more connected to our former preisdent than New Orleans, where General Andrew Jackson on horseback remains (somehow) the centerpiece of Jackson Square, the most photographed area, along with the St Louis Cathedral in the background, in the city. Jackson of course is also the hero of the Battle of New Orleans, which occurred AFTER the end of the War of 1812, where the cajuns used alligators as cannons....if you believe the song..:)
