Bubbles tend to be nitrogen/oxygen. If there's too much nitrogen it can be bad, and an indication the pipes took some damage.
Easiest is just a pH test, to be honest.
But if you can't do that, boil the water and let it sit. If the bubbles are the same, it might be a bad indication.
