I’d you’re on #nostr from #bluesky, come wanting to be your authentic self, especially from the lgbtqia+ community, and find disturbing/hateful commentary, I am sincerely sorry you’ve experienced this.

But, #nostr is open, permissionless, and building more and more tools daily for you to manage the content you want to see and the experience you want to have. No one can ban you, and if a relay does you can join an endless number of others. Follow those you want to follow, mute others. Curate your own experience, one that you control and be your authentic self.

The protocol is for you. And me. And everyone. All sharing this one common thing called humanity (fuck the bots reading this…paid relays help with that too!). We can’t control the hate in someone else’s heart, that’s their own issue. We can call it out, and should, and more moderation tools are being developed to help users. Don’t shit on the protocol because someone else is a loser who trolls and hurts others. Find your freedom in social media/the internet in a new way with #nostr!
