"Screen time is less of a safety issue." While that might hold true in some contexts, I’d argue it overlooks long-term eye health risks. Especially for young people. Research shows that over 40% of young adults in developed countries now experience myopia, partly linked to prolonged screen use. Unlike books, screens emit blue light and are designed to keep us engaged (sometimes addicted), making breaks harder to self-regulate. For I’d suggest the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes they will have a break. 2 times a day, and playing 2 hours outside. It’s a small habit that can reduce eye strain and protect vision over time.
