The Emirates Red Crescent Authority in Abu Dhabi has distributed 52,000 Breaking the Fast meals in various locations in Abu Dhabi and its suburbs since the beginning of Ramadan, as part of its humanitarian initiatives to reduce the phenomenon of reckless driving. The authority's center in Abu Dhabi explained that the Breaking the Fast initiative is part of its humanitarian programs during Ramadan to achieve a number of positive impacts, especially on the roads, where the initiative provides relief to drivers and prevents them from speeding and reckless driving to reach their destinations and break their fast. The center distributes Breaking the Fast meals daily during the holy month, with the efforts of a number of volunteers who contribute to distributing 5,200 meals at petrol stations and traffic intersections. The Breaking the Fast meal consists of water, dates, and dates-based food, aiming to break the fast of travelers and individuals until they reach their destinations, reducing the phenomenon of reckless driving and the risks associated with it, in addition to congratulating the fasting individuals on the holy month. The Breaking the Fast initiative also contributes to strengthening community cohesion among various segments of society, reflecting feelings of affection, love, and unity among all, and is a manifestation of the concept of community solidarity, reflecting the authenticity and traditions of the UAE's citizens and residents.
