"content": "Because Putin by all accounts truly believes that he's defending Russia from NATO encirclement - meanwhile, there's no legitimate reason for Western countries to topple pro-Russian leaders in Ukraine and open the door to future membership in NATO. Western policy towards Ukraine resulted in this war, the Russians had over and over again made clear that they weren't going to tolerate that shit indefinitely, and yet the Western leaders pretend to be SHOCKED when the chickens finally come home to roost.",
