The in depth terminal functionality and option to use is great, but like you as I have gotten older and after work I typically just want something that just works and I can do what I need to do (stream, game, surf, etc). Mainstream use was never a real possibility (regardless of the decades of it's the year of the Linux Desktop) until most tasks could be done without the steep learning curve and with same basic intuitive GUI on Windows or MacOS.
