It's a type of overwhelm combined with a proud ego and fear of having hope in spite of slim chances. I'm a hopeful pessimist. I know the chances for drawdown are getting smaller every year. And yet I choose to fight to repair as much as possible in my world. That's very different from the defeatism and hopelessness in much climate doom.
