But we're not going to get that, are we? That's like asking drug dealers to stop dealing drugs. There's a market for cybercrime underground. Entire cottage industries around ransomware, phishing, database leaks. The tools we have now are good and can be better, but they CANNOT compromise existing freedoms in the process.
The only way to drive them out is to make it as difficult and unprofitable as possible for their operations, to stay on top of their moves with heuristics and analysis, and root them out. This already happens for sizeable companies who attempt to protect their users (with limited resources - again - blame C levels), but who is out there protecting the common user? The police? The government? I don't think so. Start there.
