In November 2023, my dad learned he had a massive > 10cm tumor in his liver.
Soon after the finding, it was diagnosed as very rare mixed hepatocellular-cholangiocarcinoma. It occludes all of his portal veins and hepatic veins, and it has invasion in the IVC.
May 2024, we learned that the invasion in the IVC has traveled further upward and into the right atrium in the heart. Also, the tumor in the liver is continuing to grow.
Surgeons say they cannot resect the liver.
They tried a single treatment of y90, but they said it did not help, so no more.
He is going to see a cardiac surgeon this week in hopes they will offer resection of tumor in the heart. He has trouble breathing.
We believe that COVID 19 and odd immune response to it is to blame. We work backwards from the size of the tumor average growth rate, and it lines up with his infection Summer 2022.
Anyways, please pray for my dad. He is a good man and loved deeply. We just want him back in good health.
