Exact same thing, summer garden party.
We spent 5k on food and drink and a bit more on the gold rings, but total cost of 12k (before 2020) and both stacked more. We also didn't like the industry built up around the institution of marriage anyway and enjoy the creativity and process of doing things our own way.
Several people, especially the seasoned older crowd, said it was the best wedding they'd been to because everything was hand crafted by us and so personal and different. Proof of work for the win again. Less signalling is often more substance.
