Example: many node runners start out frantically rebalancing channels when they go slightly askew. But I haven't manually rebalanced a channel in over 2 years now, I just adjust the channel fees up when the balance on a channel goes too far to the "remote" side and down when it goes too far "local". There are even scripts like charge-LND that can help you automate the fee adjustments:
https://github.com/accumulator/charge-lndRebalancing costs money and also unbalances the channels of your peers, so the fee policy + waiting is a far better strategy than manual circular rebalances in my experience.
Another great liquidity solution is to open channels in a group with a Ring of Fire. If you're ever looking for new channels and want to participate in a Ring of Fire let me know! It's a channel opening strategy that nets you 2 perfectly balanced channels for the price of opening just one.
