The church is Charlemagne's cathedral, in the newer Gothic section.
You can see the iron beams at the top of the ceiling. There are no butresses! 👀 They basically hold the walls up like an iron ring around a barrel of wine.
Nobody had done that before and nobody has tried it afterward, but it works.
The windows are absolutely gigantic. Stunning.
