The historical memory, local heritage, and national identity are a rich source of inspiration and pride for Emirati artists. Through their diverse and distinctive artistic experiences, the details of Emirati heritage have been reflected in their works, and have been impressed on their personal Emirati canvases and places, rich in love for the country's history and pride in their local heritage. A unique fingerprint says artist Mohamed Mundi: "The true creator must be a source of inspiration, a great intellectual message, and have an artistic presence through the restoration of national memory and heritage, so that it is not just a hollow memory, but a distinctive and unique fingerprint that attracts others and leaves them in awe. The creator who possesses talent does not diminish his role compared to other professions, as he works tirelessly, occupied with himself and his thoughts, with a clear national line that reflects the country he belongs to, seeking to represent it in international forums." Mundi emphasized that the creator has a significant role in the impact and influence, and here lies the idea and message that these creations convey, transferring national memory and local heritage to others, so that they may know the well-documented history of this country, full of beauty. "Topography" added artist Ahmed Mohammed Al-Anzi, expert in art and culture strategies, explaining: "In my known works, which have been exhibited internationally, I have sought to express my cultural and local heritage through them, and have tackled several subjects, including the customs of men using the bustard as a symbol of this culture and heritage that we are proud of and take pride in." Believing in our national duty and human responsibility towards our country and creativity, we adhere to our roots, history, and heritage, whatever the era, and have also created the modern Bedouin identity, which lives in harmony between its rich past and its prosperous present. My new artistic work, which I have named "Topography", is a series of glass paintings that reflect the nature of the UAE, from the desert to the sea, mountains, and oases, expressing our Emirati identity, community, and nature. National identity The artist Fatima Adnan Al-Sharhan said: "Since childhood, Emirati heritage has been present in my artistic work, to preserve national memory, and I started by drawing traditional landmarks using wooden and watercolor colors, and among them is a painting of the Ras Al Khaimah Museum, which I completed during my preparatory stage, and as my artistic style developed, I used acrylic colors to draw paintings inspired by traditional elements such as 'Fenr', and other paintings that reflect national unity." She added: "I am fascinated by Emirati traditional architecture, where I drew the 'House of Wisdom' in Sharjah, alongside using different artistic techniques such as shading with graphite pencils and painting with salt, which reflects a part of the identity of the coastal residents, as the sea was the source of livelihood for our ancestors." She concluded: "Artistic works are a means of preserving national identity and documenting cultural heritage in a contemporary style, they are not just paintings, but messages that convey the details of Emirati life to future generations, as art is a bridge that connects the past to the present, and embodies the Emirati spirit in all its meanings. The artist Badour Al Ali said: "For me, art is a journey between the past and the present, where Emirati heritage is a constant source of inspiration, and I focus on nature, the relationship between man and place, and how the Emirati environment leaves its imprint on our consciousness through colors and traditional features, and I try through them to create my own vision, opening a window to the memory of the place, while preserving our connection to the present, and during my 12-year journey, I have produced many works that address scenes from our nature, heritage, and culture, such as hunting with falcons, marine and desert life, traditional games, and Emirati women, and I have collaborated with cultural institutions in Abu Dhabi to produce over 150 paintings, with a focus on Emirati heritage and culture, and have decorated the walls of several government and private institutions within the country.
