Need is a strong word, for me it represents underlying values/needs, and then the way we meet them is with strategies.

#nostr is one strategy to meet a need for community, connection, humor, inspiration and importantly for me, freedom of speech and communication.

While I currently have other strategies to meet those needs as well, there may (will?) come a time when it will be very hard to do so, at least online, and in that scenario #nostr could become the only strategy that works well to communicate with people I care about and trust (outside of in-person ofc).

Since I believe this will likely be true for most everyone at some point, I love being here now, meeting and connecting people, building a web of trust and knowing we will be here if/when most other avenues are shut down, or heavily censored beyond what they already are.
