Genuine question.
When and where did this idea come from, that "I disagree with your claim" or "I oppose your political goal" equals "I deny your humanity"?
I see it all over the political spectrum and I'm baffled.
I find it obviously vacuous and pointless, not to mention an obvious attempt at guilt-tripping, that I can't imagine even coming up with it.
Has it been around forever and I've just not come across it until relatively recently? Or has it just been popularised and brought to mainstream by the wokesters? Or is it really a new thing?
