Def no. There's water dripping there. We have classic oven with steam *puff*, but this is basically a steam pot. The top heat doesn't go above boiling water and it has functions like sous-vide or blanching veggies. There's a LOT of steam happening, it's sealed tight. Anyway cooking vegetables, rice or even meat in this is very nice. And wet, it's all so hot and wet afterwards.
