Down in Oban, Rakiura (Stewart Island) yesterday we waited for our fish and chips order listening to two older (white) locals regaling a visiting couple (from the US) on local (NZ) politics. They were very hard-core supporters of the new gov't. They were spouting utter bollocks about race and all the meat-axe talking points spouted by Winnie, Seymour, & Luxon. It was nauseating.
