You don’t need to give the actual daemons permissions to tamper with the logfiles, only the logging process.

IMHO, having a single logger process per daemon is a lot simpler and cleaner design than a huge daemon handling logging for all daemons.

True that logging to memory is good enough in many cases. I think using tmpfs is a perfect fit for those.
