I think having my teeth pushed out of my mouth by new larger ones would objectively be body horror, but Small Child is *delighted* by the process. And not just because she gets a franc per tooth (from me, I am too tired to even try to pretend the Tooth Fairy exists though I do insist on disposing of the tooth for reasons of hygiene and fiscal prudence).
The mind and its perception of what is normal and good is a powerful thing. Also see: childbirth.
