That's what "huddling" is for! I use a down mummy bag on a Thermarest and I have either a fleece or a jersey sleeping bag liner. I also bought a Pendleton wool blanket when I was in Oregon. If it's extra cool, I wear a down vest and toque as well. But I almost always shed layers as I sleep. I warm up so much during the night. Camping is all an experiment, really. Gradually, you sort out what works.
