The way I deal with this with family members that annoy me is that my partner and I each choose three annoying, repetitive topics of conversation/viewpoints that we think will be raised and we compete to see who can check off all three first.
No leading the annoying party/ies to the topics and the winner gets some prize. Make it funny rather than purely an exercise in patience because you can WIN if they annoy you.
