Virginia is one of 10 states without a formal shield law for journalists. The PRESS ACT would protect a reporter’s sources and would protect data from being seized by a telecomm company. In D.C., both the House and Senate versions of the bill have bipartisan support. U.S. Rep. Ben Cline, R-Virginia, is a cosponsor of the current iteration of the House bill. #press
