..and placing myself in that situation, there is no way, as a child, anyone could have prevented me accessing the information and community I needed, if I knew it was out there. A parental monitor/censor would simply have driven me underground, so to speak. I'd have found secretive ways to access the internet, under a burden of guilt and isolation. Great policy that would be!
