These "social media platforms" ,in a way, are responsible for a huge polarization among it's users. And therefore, indirectly, other's as well. They don't care about privacy, human rights etc..
All they're interested in, is keeping the share holders happy. Those are not the kind of platforms we need. Meta, ofr instance, finds all sorts of way to evade the GDPR here in Europe.
