Forcefully preventing your children from going somewhere, no matter how bad you think it is, is bad parenting
If you aren't able to effectively explain why you think they shouldn't go so that they voluntarily don't, you're either:
1. Purely basing it on dogma, in which case you have no valid basis for saying anything at all, or
2. Bad at explaining things, and since explaining things is one of the most crucial parts of being a parent, you are a bad parent (and as such you should try to improve)
So that is not an excuse to be forceful
