I was a very early adopter of Gmail while it was still invite-only in 2004. I ended up snagging a secondary email address that is a very common word in academia. As a result, I get emailed all sorts of things, including research papers, working drafts, and invites to educational events. However, the strangest part about having this email address has been others using it on several occasions as their recovery email. This has been quite the source of entertainment for nearly 20 years.
