We suspect that something is in the Mastodon code. Its like clockwork. Within days of accepting a follower one will drop off.
Well over a year ago it happened to a follower and they found us again to re-follow. We asked what happened, they shrugged.
We've improved posts over time, so the opposite would be happening, and more folk would likely be following now.
Its locked at 173. Something's wrong. Would relate to something a couple years ago. Has been locked for years.
