If anyone else is curious, I have it on good authority that:
"If it’s someone you are not connected to (or isn’t even a 2nd degree connection), the norm is to ignore."
The problem for me is that I'm pretty sure I'm at least a 2nd degree connection to pretty much every patent professional on there (not because I'm like super connected but because it's a pretty small professional world).
