Today's unexpected nature delight was finding a whole posse of butterflies in the process of emerging from their chrysalises!

One was even in the process of drying and pumping up its wings!

The photo isn't the best, as I was working with max-zoom on a phone camera, but I'm not sure I've ever seen this in person before!
