I have slightly different use case than many others probably, using them both, for commuting within the city (~15km/day) and shopping, as well as longer tracks. Also I often drive around 30km/h so I really like to have old-but-good racing gear (drop bar, brake+shift integrated lever, a bit more gears, ...) on them.
Other than that: Old steel frame and indestructible rack, handlebar, etc.
