For years, I've had a desktop for daily work and a laptop for audio recording and travel.
After my desktop crashed last week, I decided to get a 32" external monitor and use my laptop for everything, and so far, it is GLORIOUS.
The monitor is huge, plus I have the laptop as a second smaller monitor, and it all cost ~1/4 of what it would have to replace the computer, even with buying a dock, a bigger external storage drive, and a few other peripherals.
