The world wide web is a commons. A very unique commons. A commons that was, and is, created by the actions of all the wonderful people adding to it.
The "tragedy of the commons" is not that individuals will overconsume it if not privatized - that's mostly a myth, a very racist myth, even for natural commons - rather the tragedy will occur when private AI companies come in and destroy the value we creators and users get from this communal resource.
