I did see some works (elsewhere) that were just being set up at 5:30 and really going on at 7:30, I guess taking advantage of the extra daylight. But given my sat nav (generally) complaining at around 5pm and being perfectly happy around 7:30, I had assumed the opposite.
Night working on non-major roads is rare here. They have to use lights and stuff.
