another way the GenAI boom is like blockchain is that there are a handful of Cassandras saying "yo, this technology will **never** work as well as the solutions it wants to replace because of certain specific, structural problems with it that can't be fixed" and everyone with money is ignoring them because this is a mad dash to get rich and then find a greater fool. that's how technology development works now.
