If 1940s tech could make a bomb that could blow up a city instantly, every country on earth would have one by now and they'd be used regularly. The fact that they've only been used on a country where we'd already demonstrated we could destroy cities with conventional bombs makes it all the more suspicious. When the Soviet Union broke up, there should have been loose nukes everywhere.
