Haven't slept decently in three days so I'm operating in "this is what I would do if I was 100%" mode. Like a slightly glitchy simulation of myself, where "myself" is at the same time something I strive to be and something I believe I already am under the right circumstances.
This generates some internal tension as I have to trust some past version of me that decided who we are/want to be.
But recently I was intoxicated and had the pleasant realization that I managed, even in this "uninhibited" state, to react in the correct way to a particular event. I didn’t think about it, I didn't stop myself from reacting the wrong way, it just happened.
