Anyone who thinks a US/UK trade deal will offer any real advantage to the UK is (in my view) delusional... if a deal is concluded it will involve breaching prior UK 'red lines'; on imported chicken, on UK data regulation, likely also on access to the NHS.
What is so frustrating is that Keir Starmer seems unwilling to consider changing his 'red lines' in negotiation with the EU, but happy to throw out prior limitations on trade with the USA.
Time to pivot (properly) to Europe!
