I'm not referring to laws.
You can own a piece of physical property, not taking the law into consideration, by gaining and maintaining control over that property.
I propose you can own a secret in the same way. But there is a counter argument to this and I don't understand the premise that is based on. That's what I'm asking about. I want to understand where that belief is derived from.
