Some say that Somalia's anarchism is a primitive, irrational, dictatorial tribalism society. Yes, there are elements of truth in some places, but Somalia is a large place. There are times and places that could be good examples of anarchism/minarchism for civilised societies.

I remember a time when life was enjoyable and peaceful, (although many families had a minimum AK47 at home), kids were going to schools, the best doctors of the whole Somalia were in the area, foreigners could walk the streets.

During that time, there was almost zero or negligible taxation; many people were employed, and business was booming. It was the early 2000s, and many were using the internet, having cellphones with cheap international calls. The market was absolutely free.

The Somali shilling was printed by different factions and became worthless, but people immediately switched to harder currencies like USD, due to the free market.

In that free market, sometimes you could see pharmacies selling expired medicines, but people would advise each other to avoid those pharmacists. In this society, there were no government regulations at all; conflicts were mediated by trusted individuals.

So, I think #Somalia can be a good study case for #libertarian people.
